Day 1 – Dushanbe → Kalaikhumb.

We begin our journey eastward from Dushanbe toward the Pamir Mountains. Crossing the Shurobod Pass (2,200 m), we follow the Panj River, which forms the border with Afghanistan.
Arrival in Kalaikhumb in the evening.
Overnight in a local guesthouse.

Day 2 – Kalaikhumb → Bartang Valley (Emts).

Today, we enter the rugged Bartang Valley, one of the most remote areas of the Pamirs. The dramatic scenery follows the Panj River, offering views of Afghan villages across the water.
The contrast between the two sides of the river reflects different histories and lifestyles.

Day 3 – Gizev Valley Trek → Khorog.
Trekking 7–8 hours | Drive 90 km
Morning trek to the beautiful lakes of Gizev Valley. The trail follows the Bartang River and gradually ascends to alpine lakes surrounded by lush vegetation and dramatic mountain scenery.
After trekking, we drive to Khorog, the capital of GBAO. Visit the Botanical Garden and the local bazaar.

Day 4 – Khorog → Ishkashim (Wakhan Valley).

Drive into the Wakhan Corridor along the Afghan border. Optional stop at Garm Chashma hot springs.

Visit petroglyph sites and the Bashgumbez mausoleum. Learn about nomadic Kyrgyz life and traditional yurt architecture.

Day 7 – Trek to Bel Airyk Pass & Zorkul Lake.
Trekking 4–5 hours | Max elevation 4,835 m
Hike to Bel Airyk Pass, a historical migration route of Marco Polo sheep. Explore the Zorkul Nature Reserve, home to rare wildlife including argali sheep, ibex, marmots, eagles, and possibly snow leopards.
Wildlife observation and panoramic views of the Hindu Kush mountains.

Day 8 – Keng Shiber → Murghab.

Drive across the plateau to Murghab (3,670 m), the administrative center of Eastern Pamir.

Day 9 – Murghab → Karakul Lake (via Ak-Baital Pass 4,655 m).
Cross one of the highest road passes in the former Soviet Union.
