Day 1 – Arrival in Dushanbe.

Welcome to Tajikistan. Upon arrival at Dushanbe International Airport, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel.

Depending on your arrival time, you may explore the capital city, known for its wide boulevards, parks, and mountain backdrop. Optional visits include the National Museum of Tajikistan, Rudaki Park, and the Ismaili Center.

Overnight in hotel in Dushanbe.

Day 2 – Dushanbe → Kalaikhumb.

After breakfast, we depart eastward toward the Pamir Mountains. The road follows the Panj River, forming the natural border with Afghanistan. Throughout the drive, you will see Afghan villages across the river, offering a fascinating cross-border perspective.

The landscape gradually shifts from low valleys to dramatic mountain gorges. Along the way, we pass small villages and terraced fields carved into steep hillsides.

Arrival in Kalaikhumb in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight in a local guesthouse.

Day 3 – Kalaikhumb → Bartang Valley (Gizev).

Today we turn toward the remote Bartang Valley, one of the most untouched regions of the Pamirs. The road becomes narrower and more adventurous, offering spectacular mountain scenery.

Upon reaching the trailhead, we take a short hike to the village of Gizev (Jizev), nestled among turquoise lakes and alpine meadows. Here, you will experience authentic Pamiri hospitality in a family homestay.

Dinner and overnight with a local family.

Day 4 – Bartang → Khorog.

After breakfast, we return to the vehicle and continue along the Panj River toward Khorog, the administrative center of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO).

Khorog is a lively mountain town surrounded by towering peaks. In the afternoon, visit the Khorog Botanical Garden — one of the highest botanical gardens in the world — offering panoramic views over the valley.

Day 5 – Khorog → Ishkashim (Wakhan Valley).

Today we enter the legendary Wakhan Corridor. This historic Silk Road route runs along the Afghan border and offers stunning views of the Hindu Kush mountains.

We visit Yamchun Fortress, a 3rd-century stronghold perched above the valley, and stop at the Bibi Fatima hot springs. The day also includes a visit to the Sufi Mubarak Qadam Museum.

Arrival in Ishkashim for dinner and overnight in a guesthouse.

Day 6 – Ishkashim → Langar.

Continuing through the Wakhan Valley, we pass traditional stone villages and ancient petroglyph sites. The region is known for its unique blend of cultures and warm hospitality.

The drive offers constant views of snow-capped peaks across the river in Afghanistan. Short walks and photo stops allow you to appreciate the serenity of this remote region.

Overnight in Langar village.

Day 7 – Langar → Bulunkul & Yashilkul Lakes.

Today we cross the Kargush Pass and leave the Wakhan Corridor behind. The landscape becomes vast and open as we enter the high-altitude plateau of Eastern Pamir.

We visit the striking alpine lakes of Yashilkul and Bulunkul. Known as one of the coldest inhabited places in Tajikistan, Bulunkul offers raw and untouched beauty.

Dinner and overnight in the guesthouse.

Day 8 – Bulunkul → Murghab.

A scenic drive across the high plateau leads us to Murghab, the administrative center of Eastern Pamir. The region is home to Kyrgyz nomadic communities and wide-open landscapes.

Visit the local bazaar built from shipping containers and experience the distinct culture of this remote area.

Overnight in the guesthouse in Murghab.

Day 9 – Murghab → Karakul Lake

We cross the Ak-Baital Pass (4,655 m), one of the highest road passes in the world. The dramatic scenery includes sweeping mountain vistas and vast open plains.

Arrival at Karakul Lake, a remote alpine lake surrounded by snow-capped peaks. Time to walk along the lakeshore and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.

Overnight in a homestay near the lake.

Today offers a unique opportunity to experience traditional nomadic life. We visit a Kyrgyz family and stay in a traditional yurt.

Learn about nomadic customs, livestock traditions, and daily mountain life. Enjoy an authentic dinner and stargazing under the clear Pamir sky.

Overnight in yurt camp.
